About Gem City Invasion
Our Mission
Gem City Invasion is a Non-Profit Corporation structured to benefit the youth in Dayton, Ohio, and the surrounding areas using sports as an avenue for growth. The goal of Gem City Invasion is to instill the fundamental skills and characteristics, both physical and mental, to mature and be competitive in the sport of basketball.
In addition, Gem City Invasion will provide age-appropriate mentorship and tools as the players progress through their adolescent academic and sports careers. At Gem City Invasion, we strive to provide the latest news and insights into the world of basketball. Our mission is to create a platform emphasizing coachability, collaborative teamwork, focus, progress, and ambitious goal attainment for development in youth basketball.
Training Development
Overview:
The Gem City Training & Development program focuses on building strong fundamentals (passing, dribbling, shooting, & defending) and enhancing player’s basketball IQ. Sessions will begin in Spring.
Who:
The program targets rising 3rd- 12 graders. To optimize the ratio of players to trainers, the number of participants will be limited, so it is recommended you register early.
How Often:
Typically 2 workouts/week; Workouts will run 60 - 90 minutes
Where:
Lohrey Community Center gym
Cost:
Depends on number of sessions and duration of sessions. Cost is typically between $25 - $50
